Types of Leadership styles and leadership mindsets

There are different kinds of leadership styles which are implemented. In our organization, democratic leadership is applied but on whole, all the styles are adopted according to the situation. All of them are listed below.

  1. Autocratic leadership:

This leadership theory is defined as a company in which all of the decisions are centred to one person only the boss. No one is consulted before taking a decision for the company (Vann, Coleman, & Simpson, 2014).

  1. Democratic Leadership:

Unlike the autocratic leadership style, this leadership style focuses on mutual consensus. Subordinates contribute their ideas in the decision-making process (Kipkemboi & Jemiryott, 2014).

  1. Strategic Leadership Style:

Strategic leadership is basically the one in which leader plans everything, go with the plan and encourages their subordinates to follow the plan to achieve the vision (Robert, Dorfman, Javidan, Hanges, & Luque, 2013).

  1. Transformational Leadership:

This leadership style motivates the employees to work bring a change in themselves and in the organization so that in a challenging way effective productivity is achieved (Michael, 2013).

  1. Team Leadership:

Team leadership styles focus on working within the team and adjust your style according to the requirement of the situation for achieving better results.

  1. Cross-Cultural Leadership:

Different environments have different approaches to working. Leaders are required to adjust them according to the culture of a different organization. This helps them work with different people with ease.

  1. Laissez-faire Leadership:

It is the least effective way in which employees are given all the authority and work accordingly. They work without any intervention.Personal Leadership..

There are also some leadership mindsets which show what a leader has in mind in different and complex circumstances and how they adapt in those situations (Ståle, Aasland, & Skogstad, 2016).

  • Life Support:

A leader possesses their skills just for the fact of a survival instinct. For that, they adapt according to the situation.

  • Traditional:

This focuses on the previous approaches and following the traditional methods of leadership which are fixed. They show allegiance to elders, customs and groups.

  • Big Boss:

They are the ones showing their power and supremacy because of their position. And try always to be the dominating one in every situation. They don’t like others to come on top of them.

  • Positional Authority:

They are the ones having a sense of responsibility. They go with a proper idea and demand group discipline. They work systematically and have control over the situation.

  • Success:

These are the ones relying more on technology. It emphasis more on individuality. They provide more opportunities for the employees to more creative so that they can bring up new ideas.

  • Sustainable:

They work more on human relations and linking and deepen human bonds. They make decisions through mutual consensus.

  • Functional:

These leaders work on making everything with their full functionality so that they can be used on their fullest………..
