INTRODUCTION

The main purpose and aim is to write a brief report to the senior managers of Boohoo Group PLC about the ethical issues involved in producing fashion cheaply and quickly which often relies on extended supply chains and exploring some other factors of business ethics. It is also discussed how the brand and business image has been affected, how the stakeholders are impacted and who they are. Some recommendations are provided by the employees through which the company can make better and improved organisational image, reputation and performance.

BOOHOO GROUP PLC

Nowadays, fashion industries are outsourcing their production and supply chain department to reduce the costs. But due to this, they are also paying the low rate to the workers. This is the reason they are losing their value and worth. Supply chain management has gained huge importance and significance in the market. The unethical activities of supply chain departments are affecting the growth and development of the companies (Swenseth & Olson, 2016). Similarly, Boohoo Group PLC has also been involved in some unethical practices of production and supply chain which created the negative impact and it was also reported at the front pages of newspapers (Bland & Makortoff, 2020). Firstly, they are providing the poor working environment and low rates to the workers of supply chain companies of Leicester. Also, they are treated badly by the managers of the organization. Moreover, their Leicester companies of supply chain are also following poor corporate governance with improper monitoring and controlling systems (Allison, 2020). Along with this, Boohoo Group PLC forced their workers and staff to come and work in the lockdown and pandemic situation who were suffering from COVID-19 as well (Carlile, 2020).

As employees, it has been noticed and evaluated that these issues and problems are eventually declining the overall value of the company in the market. So, it is evaluated that there is a need to sort out and solve the conflicts with their suppliers. Ethical decision making is the most important factor which helps in identifying the issues and resolving them in the context of the business ethics (Bazerman & Sezer, 2016). Senior management of Boohoo Group PLC should realize that these issues and problems are related to the unethical practices which are prohibited and not accepted by society and the market. Moreover, government rules, legislation and regulation also play a vital role in the business ethics as it aligns the business activities with the government policies and practices. Managers of Boohoo Group PLC should also ensure that they are supporting and compliance with the provisions of Modern Slavery Act by securing the rights of the workers and providing them the good working environment. They should also make sure that their suppliers are following the Modern Slavery Act under the supervision of Boohoo Group PLC as well. Moral value is also an important factor of business ethics that helps in motivating the employees and supporting in different working practices and activities. Senior management should also focus on creating the moral values of the workers and staff so that they can feel comfortable and positive in providing a success to the assignment writing service company.

These issues and practices have created a bad image and reputation of Boohoo Group PLC in the society. However, business image is vital and important for the growth of the organization. This business and corporate image indicates the internal activities of the organization and the relationships with the stakeholders. Although, the business image shows an essential element to foster its activities and practices. It also has a key role in the society as well. According to the research of Painter-Morland (2013), there is a strong relationship between the business and the society. It is the responsibility of an organization to make its good and positive role in the society. These roles include creating value to the stakeholders and engaging them towards the business activities. Secondly, it is stated that Corporate Social Responsibility is the core element in maintaining a positive image and reputation of the business in the society. Lastly, it is revealed that performing ethical and moral practices also contribute in playing the positive and constructive role of a business in the society (Painter-Morland, 2013). Based on these ethical practices and issues, stakeholders of Boohoo Group PLC are affected badly. These stakeholders include shareholders, investors, suppliers, online retailers, workers or laborers, consumers, local council, regulatory authorities and civil partners (Butler, 2020). During these issues, the company should promise to their stakeholders that it will stop these unethical practices and will improve the stability and working environment for the workers and suppliers of the organization.
