BIM

Introduction

The business proposal that has been designed is related to the analysis of the elements of methodology that will be used in the proposed research. The title of the proposed study is related to implementation of BIM in the construction industry.

The proposal is based on evaluation and the assessment of different techniques of research that will be applied in the proposed study. Furthermore, the proposal also includes justification about the methods that have been identified for the purpose of analysis in this case.

Research Methods

The research methods have been used and implemented in accordance with the problem that has been identified for the proposed research. The major problem that has been identified is concerned with the identification of the elements that are relevant to the application of BIM in the construction industry.

The other element of the problem that will be studied is related to identification of the issues and the challenges that are faced by the organization in the construction sector with respect to execution of the processes of BIM in the construction sector. Therefore, the elements of methodology that have been proposed are related to the problem that has been identified in this case.

Methodology

According to Seidman (2013) elements of methodology refer to the methods and the steps that are adopted to derive valid findings for a particular research study. The adoption of effective elements of the methodology of research is instrumental in dealing with the issues and the challenges that are concerned with a particular research study. The different elements of methodology that will be applied in the proposed research have been presented below:

Qualitative Research

The research will be based on the use of qualitative research techniques and the adoption of inductive approach. The rationale behind the choice of this approach is the fact that the inductive research approach is based on generation of new theory from the existing facts and figures.

As the proposed research study is based on the study and evaluation of different factors that are related to the implementation of BIM in the construction; therefore, it is believed that the adoption of inductive research approach is instrumental in the evaluation of the findings of the proposed study.

The major limitation of the qualitative research is the fact that it does not involve any numerical figures and references to support the outcomes that are obtained through qualitative methods.

Research Design

The research design that will be adopted for the proposed study is the exploratory research design. The rationale behind the adoption of this research design is the fact that this research design is based on exploration of different factors that are relevant to a particular research.

As the proposed study in this case is concerned with the exploration and the identification of factors important for the implementation of BIM; therefore, it is believed that the use of this research design would prove to be effective for evaluating valid findings for the proposed study.

However, the major limitation of this research design is the fact that it does not explain the relationship and the association between the factors that are instrumental in a particular study….
