INTRODUCTION
- Introduction:
- Aims and objectives:
The point of the proposition is to demonstrate the static conduct of mimicked matrix associated Hoon PV Plant and its effect at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC) by demonstrating the heap stream cut off, and consonant substance which will be considered by GECOL to choose the endorsement of preparatory outline of 14MW PV plant at Hoon presented by REAOL for association with the current network.
The goals of this proposal would be as taking after:
Demonstrating the 14 MW HOON power plants by utilizing NEPLAN programming and associate the PV plant to reasonable GECOL structure.
- Concentrating on and investigating the load flow variations of the injected active power of the PV power plant
- Perform a short circuit power capacity which the PV power plant can deal with to the system.
- Perform Harmonic load flow analysis, and frequency scan to check impacts at PCC.
- In 2013, Libya’s government has placed a bid through (REAOL) for the construction of the first large-scale 14 MWp PV plant in Hoon, Libya. (Ruiz, A., 2011) This thesis aims to study both the static behavior and dynamic behavior of the 14 MWp PV power plant so that it can be analyzed and approved by GECOL prior to its connection to the grid. This study will cover Load flow analysis, Short circuit analysis, and Harmonic load flow analysis. All these harmonic indices obtained will be examined with regard to IEEE 519 2014 acceptable figures. For the interconnection of Hoon PV plant, the proper interface is required as without it GECOL will not welcome it as first grid stability is put to test which may lead to power outages.
- The research questions include; what will be the voltage profile at the connecting busbar after connecting the PV plant? How is it compared to the voltage profile prior connecting the PV plant? What will be the short circuit level at the connecting busbar? How will the surplus affect the GECOL equipment, cables, and settings? What will be the effects on power quality indices including harmonics, voltage dips, flicker post the connection of the PV plant? Will there be a need for any filtering devices that might make the solution rather expensive and complex?
- This thesis will highlight the integration challenges into the present electrical utility distribution system, paying detailed attention to the load flow analysis and short circuit analysis. This study will help in the understanding and introduction of the ideal selection of protective devices required in a distribution system for the penetration of the PV systems. The significance of this thesis is to study the behaviour of the 14MWp PV plant grid connected and its effect at (PCC) Point of Common Coupling by analysing the load flow short circuit capacity along with the harmonic content that will be the basis on which GECOL will decide whether or not approve the initial design of this plant that is being initiated by REAOL to connect it with the present grid. I have assumed that the GECOL Libya’s grid authorities need to introduce their own GC which is essential for the connection of this PV plant to the existing National grid. In Libya, as this grid code is not already confirmed therefore the international standards are the benchmarks for this study…
