Background and formulation of question:

The extent of hearing loss was reported to be associated with reduced quality of life in older adults. (Dalton et al., 2003) A big difference in the life of a hearing-handicapped person can be made by the use of hearing aids. A battery-powered device used to improve hearing function, a hearing aid, produces best results if it is selected correctly, proper adjustments are made and are properly cared for.

Not everyone can be benefitted by a hearing aid, the people suffering from sensorineural defect in hearing can be prescribed a hearing aid. A number of types of hearing aids are available and used on the basis of mechanism and site of insertion. (WebMD, 2017)

Hearing aids, the main treatment for hearing loss in older adults, are used only by a quarter of the prescribed subjects. The reasons of the low hearing aid use statistics have been explored by many studies and include disgrace, lack of trust and high expectation from the hearing aid, psychological factors, difficult management and maintenance and Cost of the hearing aid (Jenstad and Moon, 2011). These factors provide valuable information regarding the interventions which can lead to an increased use of the hearing aid.

Roundabout two thirds of the total sale of hearing aids in the US is purchased by adults older than sixty years of age. The documentation of the effectiveness of the hearing aids used by adults can be estimated by accessing their helpfulness, satisfaction or usage. The aspect which should be measured and the method adopted for its measurement is a subject of dispute among the researchers (Hickson and Wong, 2012).

Lack of a standard way to assess the subjective feeling of the patient prescribed a hearing aid is a barrier in generation of ways to improve the adherence of the subject to the hearing aid. Subjective feelings are recorded by way of a questionnaire based reviews from the patient (Kodera et al., 2017).

The subjective feelings assessed with interventions to alleviate the negative effectors on the use of hearing aids collected by reviews can be used to produce ways that can be used to reduce the incidence of the common factors which result in the non-use of the hearing aid.

The goal of our study is to identify that feedback and reviews lead to better compliance to the Hearing aid by reviewing the reported causes of setting aside their hearing aids and developing a framework to highlight areas in which further evidence should be collected to influence the use of the hearing aid device positively.
