Abstract
The public realm deals with the concept of free places within reach to the people living in the vicinity of the society to feel mentally fresh and relaxed in public spaces like parks, amusement zones, huge building complexes, harbours, rapid transit systems, heritage and pedestrian access areas. (Milne, 2017) The concept of the public realm is pivotal in the field of Architecture for several decades. All the formulation and construction of a progressive built environment is based on the Architecture aesthetics of the public realm from a multidimensional perspective and practical application based on the heritage principles. (Cuff, 2018) Every aspect of the public realm is based on Architecture from the visualization and aesthetic viewpoints, which creates the esteem significance and identity based of the public realm. The public realm deals with all the urbanizations taking place as a result of urban development. (Lofland, 2017) The process of vision and inspiring thought provokes involves the essence of the public realm. One of the famous quotes rightly stated on Public Realm in Architecture, “All architecture has a public nature, I believe, so I would like to make a public space.” (Ando, 2021)
Literature Review
The possibility of a public realm can be made by converting all the unused, barren and uncultivated land with an innovative layout of public streets, amusement playground parks and sustainable smart blue-green approaches for the development. Since the public’s access is public, it serves as a social hub of interacting with the different people living in the community, promoting a very good healthy well-being for the individuals. The public realm is a main part of the built environment, and its development is very important from different perspectives. (Milne, 2017) Since it’s free to access, it needs improvement from different architectural aspects like the betterment of pole lighting in the vicinity of the streets present in the area. Another important aspect is broadening the pedestrian-based access spaces like the streets and the sidewalk footpath. Likewise, the placement of road-based furniture elements for public use like the recycle bin for different types of waste material like wet and dry is further categorized into paper, plastic, and solid-waste products—another approach is adopting blue, green sustainability-based walkways as compare to the traditional road paved surfaces for landscaping Architecture in the public realm. (Sennett, 2020)
