Introduction
The main focus of this assignment pertains to a scenario analysis encompassing Sam, a 70-year-old man with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and a recent chest infection, is referred to the hospital due to worsening symptoms. Despite a shortage of nursing staff and reliance on temporary employees, Sam is assessed by a doctor who prescribes intravenous antibiotics, nebulizers, and oxygen therapy. However, there are no available beds in the respiratory ward for transfer. The goal of this project is to thoroughly analyze an incident’s underlying causes in order to pinpoint any relevant elements and make suggestions for averting future occurrences. A critical component of providing healthcare is ensuring patient safety, and healthcare personnel are accountable for creating a secure environment.
