American Airlines

Introduction

American Airlines: Presently, it has been recognized that American-Airlines along with American Eagle as well as American connection has been delivering its programmed and planned services to 250 cities in 40 countries. Its average number of flights on a daily basis is approx 3,400. , American Eagle as well as American Connection, all are the subsidiaries of AMR Corporation. While the parent company of American Airlines named as AMR Corporation came into existence in 1982, the American-Airlines was a brand which was considered to be a major player in air travel industry (AMR, 2009). However, in 1929, the aviation corporation which is now recognized by the name of American Airways has experienced extensive consolidation by acquiring highest scores of independent airlines in the airlines industry. American Airways is a brand under which a number of carriers flew, and the existence of its headquarters was in New York. In addition, its running routes were from Boston, Los Angeles, and New York to Dallas (Ref, 1). Furthermore, in 1934, the company’s name was renamed as  and became number one airline in the United States of America in dealing domestic carrier as well as generating high revenues. The history of  demonstrates that the first flight of  was flown by Charles Lindbergh in 1926 from St.Louis and Missouri to Illinois and Chicago. It took at least eight years to attain an image of the brand as same as what it is today. In 1934, Cyrus Rowlett Smith, who is considered to be the American initiator became the president of American Airlines, and he used to work with Donald Douglas in order to create a plane named as DC-3, which has changed the airline industry completely. American Airline started generating higher revenues from the mail to passengers. However, Cyrus Rowlett Smith runs the company as CEO from 1934 till 1968. It has also opened one of the largest airline lounge named as “The Admiral Club” in 1939 and worked in partnership with Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia city of New York in order to open the LaGuardia Airport (American Airlines Inc, 2016).

In 1942, American decided to open a sky chef who offers different flight meals to American passengers as well as other carriers in order to make their journey enjoyable. However in 1945, American Airlines introduced its first European service with the name of American Overseas Airlines. It also established a base for the reason of maintenance in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Before inventing a plane DC-3,  used to make Freight routes and at that time most their task force turned to the military during World War II. After world war II,  renewed itself in accordance with the demands of passengers for air travel, and as the company expanded itself, then it has planned some affordable flying packages for families, as well as they, also introduces coach service for the passengers who traveled in first class.
