Transcultural films are the films which make after assembling two cultures. Nowadays, most of the cultures are putting their great efforts in order to form cross cultures that mean linking the principles and practices of diverse cultures as well as it will be strengthened for both cultures. The nature and effects of film theory on the natural world have been explained by Noel Carroll. In accordance with Carroll, whenever researchers are engaged in film theory, their main focus is to answer all those questions efficiently that people might have in their minds. Film theorists explained all the pleasures and patterns that are included in films that viewers want to see in all genres of films. Carroll applies a model called post-positivist on scientific film theories in order to explain that what would be proceeding of film theory. With the help of psychoanalytical theory, Carroll provide guidance to film theorists that they should answers all questions reliably to the audiences regarding cognitivism when they have a competition with other film theorists (Carroll, 1988),
Chinese Film According to a famous theorist, Bazin explained that cinemas should always try to represent reality as well as to represent reality is the main goal of cinemas (Baudrillard, 1994). Therefore in order to represent reality, cinemas always look for a realistic approach. With the view of pre-cinema ages, previous art is an example of a realistic approach that captures a real life in their painting and sculptures (Bazin, 1989). Theorists can represent the reality of the world with the introduction of the photograph (Manovich, 2001). This essay is a critical analysis of the Chinese film “I Am Somebody” that shows a dream of a poor migrant who wants to become a celebrity. Short Description of “I Am Somebody” and the Director
The director of the Chinese film “I am somebody” is Derek Yee. His parents and brothers all are actors working in the film industry. Though, he attained fame after released his third film “Death Duel” (1977). Moreover, he also directs a famous film named suave divertissement, therefore after directing that film, Yee considers China to make his new film in the city of China called Zhejiang. In order to direct this film, Yee spent almost two years around “Hengdian” (world’s biggest studio) a small town situated in Zhejiang in order to collect real-life stories of people of China. The film was about a poor migrant named Peng, who left his snowy town in order to become a celebrity. He left his town with 160$ in the pocket without having any experience in acting. Peng used to love Ting, she was a girl who wants to become an actress in order to support her family.
