Introduction

The cornerstone of competent and compassionate patient care in the complex and sensitive world of children’s wards is nurses, who play a pivotal role in the shifting healthcare landscape. These medical professionals are essential to the overall health of young patients since they not only see to it that they recover physically but also take care of their emotional and psychological requirements. Their presence is essential in the setting of specialised care for children because of the scope of their obligations, which range from basic nursing activities to complex medical interventions (Yang and Kang, 2022).
Nurses working in pediatric wards occupy a special position since they support their patients’ needs while working closely with families and diverse healthcare teams. They help create a caring and comforting environment that is essential for children’s healing and comfort while they are receiving medical treatment. But there are difficulties associated with the scope of their responsibilities. Nurses working in children’s wards face a variety of challenges because of the complexity of pediatric care and the demanding nature of healthcare environments (Kuchaki et al., 2022).
These committed professionals are under a great deal of stress from a heavy schedule that includes continual patient monitoring, medication administration, and handling emergency circumstances. Due to the dynamic nature of children’s health, nurses must be skilled in managing the complicated patient care needs of patients, which frequently involve making important decisions and acting quickly in response to changing medical conditions. Additionally, the emotionally charged setting can be taxing on nurses since they must strike a careful balance between giving the best possible care and attending to the emotional needs of both young patients and worried relatives (Hazwani et al., 2021).
Given the numerous difficulties experienced by nurses in pediatric wards, educational training programs are suggested as a potential route to boosting their efficacy and efficiency in this crucial area of healthcare. These programs are designed to give nurses a broad skill set that includes not only technical proficiency but also the capacity to facilitate interprofessional collaboration and handle stress. Educational training programs have the ability to empower nurses by making an investment in their professional development, giving them the confidence and capacity to deal with the complexity of pediatric care (Khemiri, 2019).
The aim of this literature review is to assess the effectiveness of educational training programs for nurses working in pediatric wards in order to increase their productivity.
