Schools Curriculum about Exercise Education

As stated by Gov. UK (2013), a superior curriculum regarding physical education in primary as well as secondary schools inspires students to take a keen interest in sports activities which leads to some exercise. The strong physical education curriculum motivates students for demanding other physical activities as well.

The aim of school curriculum regarding physical education is to provide their students a healthy and strong life. There are some stages defined in national curriculum of physical education that help students in order to understand the positivity of exercise activities and help in order to raise their psychomotor and physical skills. Physical education helps students in developing mental skills as well as extends their quickness.

According to stage one of curriculum, physical exercise helps students in increasing their social skills. Curriculum defines that students should be able to get connect to competitive physical activities. Keeping in view the curriculum regarding physical education, both primary and secondary schools in the UK are responsible for teaching about body movements in an efficient and effective manner.

In addition, schools should guide the students that how to take an active part in team games (Gov.UK, 2013). According to the stage, two that are included in the curriculum demonstrates that students should develop an extensive range of multiple skills, in addition, should learn to use those skills in diverse ways. Students should communicate and perform exercise activities in team groups. Different actions should be applied by the students that have been taught by their teachers.

UK schools hire effective teachers in order to give a training session to students at primary as well as secondary level. It must be taught that they should recognize and achieve their own success. Training sessions include different exercises such as jumping, running, and throwing. The curriculum provides guidance to teachers that in what ways they should teach their students. Therefore, a national physical education curriculum provides guidance to students as well as defines ways to promote exercises in UK schools (Gov.UK, 2013).

Exercise-Related Activities in Primary and Secondary Education

In the view of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (2000), health and exercise related activities are considered to be an essential part of growing up for children and young people. It has been researched that the American Heart Association, as well as Diabetes Association, believes that the schools should deliver a quality programs of physical activities that include health and exercise-related activities to their students at primary level as well as secondary level in order to improve their health and to keep them safe from number of chronic diseases.

Thus, exercise activities entail young students at the secondary level of education to get engaged in eating healthy, adopting good healthy behaviour as well as helps them in the evading use of tobacco in order to prevent them from chronic diseases (CDC, 2001).

Furthermore, physical education is considered to be the part of the school’s curriculum at primary as well as the secondary level of education. Primary as well as secondary schools and universities follow different exercise activities in order to raise the cognitive understanding and psychomotor skills among students so that they can spend a physically active life.

Activities follow by education systems are athletics, gymnastics, outdoor games, aquatics and adventurous activities. These all physical activities are considered to be exercise activities in which students use their energy by the movement of their bodies (Bailey and Docherty, 2003).

Athletics

Athletics includes different exercise activities such as running, ball throw as well as jumping activity. At primary level of school, students first perform basic movements of their bodies as an activity such as walking, running and jumping because such activities help them in raising their psychomotor skills (Ebashi, 1969).

Gymnastics

This exercise activity focuses on the movement of a body with the help of unique equipment. As the children learned better balancing in their body movements, they strive to perform the more difficult task in order to make them more active (Fahey et al., 2005).

Adventurous and Outdoor Activities

Generally outdoor and adventure activities are not used by primary schools, but they help students to get introduced to map reading as well as interning activities (Fahey et al., 2005).

Aquatics

This activity helps students in order to gain their confidence regarding water-based activities. But the main aim of this activity is to enable students with safety measures. Schools and universities are responsible for adapting these circumstances on their own. The key factor of this strand is to allow students to obtain an opportunity to get connected with water-based activities (McGuinness and Shelly, 1996).
