INTRODUCTION
Media and Communication The movie that I have chosen as my regional film is cutie honey which is directed by Hideaki Anno. It is a Japanese action film with a superheroine. I will be comparing and contrasting all the features of this movie with a sucker punch, the movie of our module.
Sucker punch is an English action film that contains glamour, action, adventure and what not. It contains all the elements and necessary graphics, visuals that make it an outstanding movie. However, sucker punch is a pure feminist movie presenting a superheroine that fights against the evil world.
Cutie Honey is a Japanese action film with the country of origin Japan. This film is the reproduction of the famous series of cutie honey.
The star of the film is a Japanese model Erico Sato who acts as the main lead of the film. Erico has the power to transform into whatever she wants. The film mainly focuses on the cutie honey’s battle against humanity and the whole evil world. Her transformation powers come from an induction system. This film contains anime versions.
SYNOPSIS
Media and Communication Erico Sato, who is the cutie honey, the main lead of the film, is the daughter of a renown professor. She was living a normal life until she had an accident where her human body got dead. The only organ alive in her body was the human brain. Kisaragi who was her father saved her life by transmitting her brain into an android body. Due to the transfer to android system, she has the superpowers of transforming into whatever identity she wants. Whenever she transforms into cutie honey she turns into a superheroine holding a sword. To transform into cutie honey she requires a lot of energy which she gains by eating a lot. Her father, kirasagi was killed by one of the organizations named panther claw. She solemnly promises to avenge his father’s murderers. Cutie Honey is a carefree individual, she has no friends, no family, the only family she has his father’s friend Dr Utsugi.

The revenge of cutie honey from the organization Pattern Claws who kills his father, adds action and thrill to the film. The magical part of the films come by the heart-shaped locket by touching whom Erico Sato(the main lead) turns into cutie honey. The adventure parts add up to the movie when she figures out plans and ways to avenge pattern claw, the murderer of his father.
REPRESENTATION
Cutie Honey was heavily influential for Kill la Kill and is pretty similar to each other. Both focus on a female protagonist (Ryuko and Cutey Honey) that finds out that their father has been killed by a mysterious person and must find the one who is responsible for killing their father. Both use a transformation power created by their father to fight against evil. Both titles also have a similar supporting cast and use a help from a mysterious man with a connection to the protagonist and her father to use their powers. They also contain a lot of action, fanservice and comedy…
