This thesis describes the inventive process in the automobile industry in UK and considers the Greater ABC region as an object of inquiry. The automotive sector, as a reference for current industrial organizations, is a driving force behind a diverse and complicated worldwide production chain. Thus, the industrial innovation process mobilizes a strategic group of actors across the industry, including mobile and embedded technologies. This work is the product of a qualitative approach backed by a descriptive style of research, defined through a numerous case study and semi-structured interviews followed by secondary documentary analysis. Innovations that were locally generated involving agents from the production chain and identified in conjunction with competitors. The results suggest open innovation practice, which has been confirmed in field study. However, knowledge management in the link between organizational culture and organizational innovation was not regarded a mediator.
