Introduction

REFLECTION UPON EXPERIENCE: Amid the act of my expert vocation, I came across various patients with multitudinous ailments; this enhanced my insight, aptitudes and capacities to give better care. The point of this paper is to mirror my experience, which was related to community placement based training, where I managed a case of a diabetic patient. REFLECTION UPON EXPERIENCE In relation to this, I will utilize the Gibbs (1988) model of reflection, which will enable me to depict, assess, break down and arrange regarding the provision of better care on the off chance that I experience a comparative case again in the future.

Feeling

I had a terrific feeling regarding my case when I got to know that Mr. Thomas, my patient was stressed and upset; also, the staff told me that Mr. Thomas was not adhering to the therapy. During my observation, I noticed that this behavior of Mr. Thomas was merely because the staff was not giving proper attention towards Mr. Thomas’s recovery. When the history of my patient, Mr. Thomas was clear to me, I showed dedication towards him. As per the NMC (2015), a set of accepted rules and medical caretakers need to secure the poise and protection of the patient. Moreover, as per Clarke and Donaldson, (2008), one important consideration in ascertaining the standard of care provided to the patient is the service provided by nurses, which also determines the results related to patient recovery. REFLECTION UPON EXPERIENCE This situation made me question the staff for their irresponsible attitude towards Mr. Thomas….
