Introduction
The current global era is recognized due to the reduced distance and increased communication across the world. Media includes narrowcasting as well as a broadcasting medium like newspaper, magazines, radio, TV, fax, telephone, and with the advancement in the technology, a more rapid and form of media that is the internet, which includes different social networking sites that has the potential to spread the news instantaneously (Aikat, 2009).
Media has now become one of the vital aspects of our lives and has affected the life in positive as well as negative way. According to the report of World Tourism and Travel Council (2017), it is consecutive the sixth year that the travel and tourism industry has outperformed in the global economy despite political and economic challenges in the world. The rise in tourism is directly reflected by air transportation (aviation). This report will give a brief insight on the impact of media on tourism and aviation organization along with critically analysing different aspects including ethical and legal issues.aviation organisations.

aviation organisations:The term media is defined as the means of communication, which has the potential to reach and influence the people extensively. The advancement of technology has categorized the media into two broad categories, namely: traditional and modern media. The traditional media corresponds to the conventional means of communication that was used in the ancient times; whereas the modern media refers to the contemporary communication means that are advanced and developed in the recent times. Both kinds of media assists in enhancing communication and sharing information, which greatly helps in the development of different industries and influences the lives of thousands of audience (Aikat, 2009).
Previously, tourism and aviation industry solely dependent on the tour operators and agents, who used to guide the customers. The emergence of rapid media like the internet has facilitated interactions worldwide and have changed the methods of planning holidays by influencing decisions regarding tourism and aviation industry. The tourism industry has become one of the fastest growing industries that have a chief role in the socio-economic progress of the country (UNWTO, 2017). The current media has enabled people to easily access the information that has reduced the role of tour operators as the people can explore a variety of information online. However, the tour operators are using media for spreading their promotional activities and offers that are attracting people as well. The aviation industry is witnessing an increased number of passengers now and has made their processes and details easily accessible (like flight details, booking processes, rates etc.) for attracting more customers.
Significance of Media for Tourism and Aviation Industry
All the sources of media are considered to be important for the tourism. However, a drastic surge has been observed regarding the role of social media in the tourism industry (Zeng and Gerritsen, 2014).
