1. Introduction
The need for health care budget and policies has increased in UK and other countries over the years. With a £144.4 billion (Deloitte, 2015) health care budget in 2012, the National Health Services U.K is facing a pressing issue of increasing health care needs. Amongst these the demand for psychological related health services is on the rise. According to Joint Commissioning Panel for Mental Health (2012) 17.6% of adults in UK are considered to have some forms of mental health problem. At the same time the overall burden of disease of mental health problem soars high at 23% as compared to 16% is due to cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

As stated by Blank and Burau (2013), the health care policies in the UK and around the world have changed over the time and there are many factors that cause these changes in the health care policies. These factors include both the microeconomic and macroeconomic factors including the social factors within society. The health care policies in the UK are generally changed considering the situation of the health industry within the country and the social and economic situations prevailing in the country at a particular time. Considering this, this research will aim to identify the social factors in particular that affect the UK health care policies in order to solve the health-related problems in the country.
1.1 Significance and Rationale of the Research
The rationale behind conducting the research on this particular research title is the researcher’s personal interest in the field of health policy and the significance of the research for the health care policymakers. The research carries significance to different individuals and institutions in the UK. The research will identify and evaluate the social factors that can affect the health care policies in the UK so the individual readers will also be able to learn those factors as well and their knowledge will be increased. The institutions and policymakers will also benefit from the research and they will be able to monitor the social factors and their impact on the health care policy in the UK. Lastly, the research carries significance for the future researchers and academicians as the research will also contribute to the academic literature and provide future researchers with better knowledge on the research title……………………….
