1.     Introduction

Tourism Management, The underlying essay is related to the discussion about the concept of tourism and to evaluate the issues related to adventure tourism. Furthermore, the essay includes discussion regarding the importance of adventure tourism and the factors that are involved in providing quality experience as far as adventure tourism is concerned. Relevant literature has been used for this purpose to evaluate key issues regarding the main aspect that has been studied on this topic.

Some of the common types of tourism are Business tourism, Nature Tourism, Recreation Tourism, Social Tourism, Sports Tourism, Religious Tourism and Adventure Tourism. In the view of Hall and Page (2014), the differences in different types of tourism are related to the activities that are performed in a particular category of tourism.

According to the findings of the literature of Steven, Pickering and Castley (2011), the tourism industry is an active and a modest business that involves the skill to accumulate to client’s constantly changing needs and requirements. Furthermore, it is suggested that the main aim and focus of a tourism business company or organization is to provide their customers with safety and satisfaction so as to keep the customer happy.

The industry of tourism in more economically developed countries has increased rapidly in the last few decades. Now, tourists are opting longer holidays, and it is observed that they are travelling more often too far away destinations. Some reasons behind this are a rise in income of people along with more advancement in transport, Start of holiday packages and movement of people towards more exotic and unusual destinations because of the change in lifestyles and trends. According to Kreag (2001), in the US world tourism has been the major contributor to economic activities. Tourism has given the opportunities of employment to both of the communities whether large or small. However,  the contribution and effect of tourism have not been recognized widely. People consider that tourism has an impact on the tax or job but more than that, the impact of tourism is broader than this. Talking about the areas that tourism has been impacting it could be arranged into seven categories which include the economy of the country, environment, social and culture, services provided, generation of taxes, the attitude of the community and the congestion and crowd (Koncul, 2007).

As stated by Plessis, Merwe and Saayman (2011), the tourism industry has many great advantages compared to the other industries. It has also helped the countries to transform and build a better society. However, tourism management in order to increase the tourism, the country must look for the factors that attract the tourist for an adventurous tourism journey (Neto, 2003). Tourism is one of the most important parts for building a better economy for the world as tourism generates more or less 1 trillion dollars in the global revenue in the year of 2008, increasing to 1.8% from the previous year.  International tourism has been positioned to be the fourth largest business around the globe. Tourism is a source of earning the foreign exchange for more than 80% of emerging countries. On the contrary side, it is found that after oil tourism is the key and second essential foundation of foreign exchange (Honey and Gilpin, 2009). However, tourism management in the view of Lawrey (2010), the business of adventure tourism has grown substantially in past twenty years. It includes underwater diving, adventure safari, skiing, skydiving, river rafting, scuba diving, horse riding, jet skiing, ice climbing, mountain climbing, bungee jumping, and surfing, etc.

Adventure Tourism has become immensely famous worldwide over the previous years with more people going to destinations already undiscovered. This considers new destinations to advertise themselves as genuinely one of a kind, speaking to those travellers searching for uncommon, unique encounters. It is enthralling that the adventure portion is getting a charge out of quick development (Newsome, Moore, and Dowling, 2012). The industry is additionally bringing issues to the light of manageability, the need to support nearby groups and advance social responsibility.
