Introduction

The changes of the era of social media have greatly influenced youth communication patterns. Now youth has converted very smartly from face to face interaction to social media interaction and ways of communication. The connection between social media, sleep deterioration, and the health, overall encompassing both the mental and physical impact, is one of the more important and recent developments in scientific research (Azhar et al., n.d.). In this article the author examines the effects of media are on teenager’s sleep. Ultimately, the author aims to find a solution to the digital wellness and public health issues caused by excessive social media use before bed.

Literature Review

There are more than 90% of young people among adults with social media accounts that spend about 3 hours per day on popular platforms regardless of; Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. However, in the process, social media delivers peer bonding, artistic expression and academic development. Also, youth are not exempt from challenges like anxiety, depression and feelings of inferiority that can be experienced from the virtual interactions (Riehm et al., 2019). It conveys the double capability of Social media over youth mental health, and it throws light on the complex nature of the influence of these channels on the new generation of individual’s psychological landscape.
