Introduction:

Health inequalities are unfair differences that can be avoided, but they persist among different groups within society. This includes how likely people do survive in the society under health conditions they may experience and the care that is available to them.

This is a review of Health Equity in England: The Marmot Review Ten Years On (2020) published as a follow up of his report back in 2010 to analyze the implications of nursing and health care in the United Kingdom . Marmot et al, (2020) states that the situation has become pathetic as an analysis of the report he published 10 years back in 2010. Despite the incredible efforts to illustrate what is achievable it revealed a negative impact on the health status….

 

Discussion:

Following areas of interest are outlined in the Marmot Review article “Fair Society Healthy Lives” by Marmot et al. (2010). It includes the standard of healthy living, places and communities and ill health prevention.

Health inequalities have increased since 2010 as a result of the deterioration in the economy. Analysis shows that the weakest area in which there is a lack of work is the area of ill health prevention. For the ill health prevention there are multiple programs led by Public Health England and NHS England in local government. A higher emphasis on regional disparities is placed (NHS Five Year Forward View, 2014). England’s actions and results have been disappointing, but there is hope that they will improve over time.
